For this assignment I was required to create a lesson plan for elementary students. This lesson plan was on understanding different basic shapes they use in their everyday life. They were also required to learn how to draw the different shapes. I have included the following steps in the lesson plan: anticipatory set, teaching input, teaching/modeling, checking for understanding, guided practice, closure and independent practice.
Rationale:
To document my understanding of Planning for Instruction I have chosen to include my Geometry Lesson Plan because, by doing this assignment I have demonstrated my understanding of planning for instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas.
